in owning your own Microlight?Huh?

I assume you do your own maintenance instead of a CAA engineer doing it as he would a GA aircraft?
So whats involved..if you dont mind taking the time to explain?

Do you have a maintenance schedule to follow or is it purely down  to yourself to ensure your a/c is airworthy?

many thanks, the guy at Ultr-Air recommended keeping the a/c fully rigged in a hangar to minimise any potential damage to the wing etc....when rigging or incorrect rigging....plus really, my time is very limited owning my own business so if i want to be flying then i need to spend as little time as possible doing pre-flight stuff like rigging.......

I u sed to be an aircraft engineer in the royal navy, albeit on the radio and radar systems on seaking mk4 helos and latterly i was a signal and telecomunications engineer on the railway and before thinking of flying i used to run my own kart race team and did the spannering for the team so know my way around a tool box and probably could follow a more mechanical based maintenance schedule ie, pre flight, post flight and time related maintenance tasks.....

my main problem right now is finding a close `good` training establishment for flexwings.....i`ve recently moved and the nearest place is Fenland which dont do microlights....I told Mark om PM that I went to UltrAir the other day and it took nearly 2 hours to get there....i dont know how far (time distance) AA microlights are but am thuinking they might just be as far.

Also, I wont be buying anything until I get my training out of the way..if I ever do...  Smiley
